Welcome to the Shepherd Middle School Band Web Page!!
The Shepherd Middle School Band is under the direction of SISD Director of Bands Michelle Durden, Assistant Director Juan Gallegos, and Assistant Director Christopher Alexander. Students in the SMS Band perform as members of multiple performance ensembles including Beginning Band and Symphonic Band.
All SMS Band Students have the opportunity to perform in UIL events such as Concert and Sight Reading contest, Non UIL events like Solo and Ensemble Contest, and take reward trips to destinations such as Kemah, Galveston, ITZ, Main Event and many more exciting places.
SMS Symphonic Band students have the additional responsibility of performing for SMS Pep Rallies and SMS Football Games.
Being a member of the SMS Band is truly a rewarding experience that all students should consider! Students learn time management, team building, team work, and also how to play a new and exciting instrument!
As one of the largest organizations in Shepherd ISD, the SMS Band offers students a very large family of like minded individuals, who enjoy making music together!
